The look of Batman's costume is a large part of this character, as the only reason he dressed as a bat was to be scary to criminals. Obviously some stories got away from that, like Rainbow Batman, but what are your picks for who did it best and worst?
Best: Wrightson, especially when Batman met Swamp Thing for the first time
Worst: Sekowsky. His stylized art did not work on Batman
Oddest: Frank RObinson, who drew the only highly wrinkled
BAtman befoer Dark Knight came along
Favourite: Neal Adams, especially when drawn at night with lots of shadows, as in NIght of the REaper or the empty graves story

Walt Simonson once told me that he and Mike Kaluta had an informal contest going to see who could put the longest cape on Batman.

Simonson drew the cape as if it were made of poster board, stiff with a lot of bends and folds. In the Manhunter-Batman crossover story, there's a vertical panel showing the cape cascading down a hill for about 20 feet behind him.

Kaluta's version seemed to be made of very thin silk, billowing and flowing. In the comic where Batman met the Shadow, there's one panel where the cape is blown by the wind, stretching about 40 feet in front of a standing Batman.

Both of them drew a fantastic Batman.

Oddest was Tarzan Batman, just the mask and an off-the-shoulder leopard skin.
